The Kumbh Mela - the largest gathering of humanity on earth - given them a break from loneliness. Apart from the usual spectacle of naked sadhus and millions who come to the festival to take a dip at the Ganges, nearly half a million elderly people camp on the banks of the river for one month to seek spiritual purity - the process is called Kalpawas and they are called Kalpawasis.
