Kumbh Mela: Hand in Hand

Take a spiritual trip, through the largest gathering of people on Earth, in India's Kumbh Mela. A gathering of humanity so mammoth it can be seen from space.

India's elderly are increasing living in isolation in villages as young people move to cities for jobs and education. The Kumbh Mela - the largest gathering of humanity on earth - given them a break from loneliness. Apart from the usual spectacle of naked sadhus and millions who come to the festival to take a dip at the Ganges, nearly half a million elderly people camp on the banks of the river for one month to seek spiritual purity - the process is called Kalpawas and they are called Kalpawasis.
