HOTEL MUMBAI er en intens og medrivende historie om medmenneskelighed og heltemod, baseret på den virkelige historie om det skæbnesvangre angreb på det legendariske Taj Mahal Palace Hotel i Indien i 2008.

Blandt det dedikerede personale på hotellet befinder der sig den ansete chefkok Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) og tjeneren Arjun (Oscar-nomineret Dev Patel, ”Lion”), der vælger at risikere deres liv for at beskytte gæsterne. Mens verden ser på, bliver et desperat forældrepar (Armie Hammer, ”Call Me By Your Name” og Nazanin Boniadi ”Homeland”) tvunget til at foretage utænkelige ofre for at beskytte deres nyfødte barn.

Filmen trækker publikum ind i epicentret af angrebene og skildrer almindelige mennesker fra alle samfundslag, hvis reaktioner på dette mareridtsagtige scenarie afslører modet og modstandskraften, der forbinder os, når vi har allermest brug for det.

HOTEL MUMBAI is an intense and riveting story of humanity and heroism, based on the real story of the fateful attack at the legendary Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in India in 2008. Among the dedicated staff of the hotel, there is the prestigious chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and the waiter Arjun (Oscar-Nominated Dev Patel, "Lion") who chooses to risk their lives to protect the guests.
